Taking a Closer Look at Katy Perry’s Recent Hair Style Change
Katy Perry. Award winning musician, strong female character and ambassador for a range of charities and events. The beautiful singer was always known for her stunning hair styles and wasn’t shy about admitting to spending hours in front of a mirror at her favourite hair salons – but recently, she decided to make quite a substantial change to her notable look.
During a recent music festival, Katy was spotted singing her latest track with a very short, highlighted hair style that had everyone guessing about what was going on – what led to her deciding on this style and how had she managed to pull it off so well? You might not know this, but Katy recently started working with a new music producer.
During an interview she said that this transition had led to her wanting to tackle a new style of music – one that she’d been desperate to venture into for years.
Change of music, change of hair
Now although she hasn’t commented on the subject directly, it’s fairly safe to assume that Katy’s recent change in hair style could be down to her music. Perhaps she felt that a short, sharp look might better suit the edgy musical activities that are being played across radios in the UK. In fact if you think about it, there’s been a recent influx of female celebrities opting for short chops.
This could have something to do with the latest trends, or it might have something to do with empowering females everywhere. For years now, short hair has been synonymous with men, but with leading ladies like Katy demonstrating that women can be just as powerful as men in many walks of life; we’re of the opinion that she’s doing so to make a political point.
And what a good one the point is. Sure, it could all be for style and aesthetics – in fact many believe that she’s done it to tie in with her latest album release, which is undeniably different to her previous ones, but what if the decision was a little more emotionally orientated? Some believe that the change was made as a result of heart-ache, as it seemed to coincide with the singers’ recent break-up with heart-throb Orlando Bloom.
In any event, the trend setter has certainly caused hair salons around the UK to boost bookings – with women hoping to have their locks cut back to resemble the star. If you like the style, then why not book yourself into an appointment with a local hairdresser right now?
